| 1944 |

Frank Flowers establishes business. |

Rogers interest in the trash business started at 8 years old
when he was emptying barrels in the back of his dad's pick up. |

Flowers Sanitation started with 2 trash trucks & serviced a
small area. Frank also at that time operated the Virden
Landfill west of town; that landfill has been closed for a
number of years. |

| 1971 |

Built a 48 x 60 2 bay shop at 900 W. Fortune St. in Virden
with a 12 x 12 office & sitting on 1 acre of land; this was
all done while still working for his dad. |

| 1978 |

Roger ran a small route for 1 year while working with his dad. |

Roger's equipment was a pick up with wooden sideboards. |
| |

Roger continued to build his route for 3 to 4 years then
expanded with a '73 Ford trash truck & '75 Ford Pick up |

| 1981 |
- In
November Roger bought Frank out: 2 trash trucks & backhoe;
went to curbside pickup |

|

| 1983 |

Roger bought his 1st new International trash truck |

- Also
had a '75 Chevrolet trash truck and a '75 pick up with dump
hopper |

|
|
| 1988 |

Bought 1st used '79 Mack roll off truck with 5 boxes & went in
to roll off business |

- This
was promoted by Thermal Ceramics in Girard who encouraged
Roger to haul their trash |

| 1989 |
- Put
1st computer in the office in Virden |
|
|
|
| 1991 |
- In
June bought out Hartman Disposal in Carlinville |
|
- We
have seen 4 haulers come and go and we are still here and
growing strong |

|
| 1992 |

Roger bought his 1st new roll off truck & at the time he
bought this new truck he had been in the roll off business 3
to 4 years |

| 1994 |

Roger built new office - added 1 more computer |

Roger bought his 3rd new roll off truck |

Roger built a 4 bay shop & washbay south of the main shop |

Roger bought his 4th new roll off truck |

Roger bought out Charlie & Lucy Pocklinkton's Residential &
Commercial Route |

Charlie later retired in August of 2003 |

Added 3rd office personel & 3rd computer |

Roger bought out Harold Ellingers roll off business from
Litchfield |

Added another 4 bay shop to the existing 4 bay shop w/ washbay |

Roger bought an additional 3 acres for container storage |

Currently Flowers Sanitation employs 5 office
personel Monday through Friday 7:30 - 4:00. Someone is
always in office to answer phone calls, not an answering
machine. |

Currently Flowers Sanitation employs 22
drivers/laborers Monday through Friday 6:30 to when the route
is done. This number of employees does include Roger who
is a working owner & drives his own roll off truck. |
